Worship Leader: Steve Norment

Steve Norment has been involved in Worship, Music, Youth, and overall church ministry for the last 27 years. Steve loves Jesus with all his heart, and is willing to go where ever God calls him to go. He loves worshiping the Lord, leading others into worship, writing and performing Christian songs, singing, playing keyboard, and piano, preaching, teaching, and serving in the church.

God's call, and his passion for Worship, Music Ministry, Adult, and Youth ministry have grown stronger and stronger over the years. He has been involved in volunteer ministry for 14 years, and in staff ministry positions for 13 years.

His hearts desire is to see the church come alive in Christ, and be revived by the power of the Holy Spirit, and God's Word. Let me tell you a little more about myself:

"I became a Christian in High School through a ministry called "Young Life". I grew up in a non-Christian family, and got involved in "Young Life" as a freshman because of my older sister's influence. While attending a "Young Life" summer camp I heard that God had sent His only Son Jesus to die in order that my sins could be forgiven, and to prove how much He really loved me. That night, after the meeting, we were asked to spend some time alone without talking to anyone. Well, God interrupted my quiet time with His Holy presence. I began to talk to Him for the first time as I realized that He was the one who had created the very stars that I was gazing at. I asked Him to come into my life and to be my personal Lord and Savior, and He did! I began walking on a trail, and suddenly I knew that He was there walking with me. It was so cool! There I was, walking with the creator of the whole universe. I wasn't alone any more. This was definitely the most amazing experience of my life. Since that day I have been following Him, and it keeps getting better and better.

Over the years I have had the privilege of singing, speaking, and leading worship at a variety of Christian functions. This includes: Church services for adult, singles, college, youth, and children's ministries. I have also done ministry for evangelistic outreaches, retreats, seminars, camps, mission trips, concerts, prisons, juvenile hall, rescue missions, street ministry, weddings, and memorial services. I am currently working on a music CD project with 14 original Christian songs. I plan to finish the project this year. Anyone who might be willing to help donate for this project would be much appreciated.

I spend time reading and applying scripture to my life. I worship the Lord, pray, and have devotions in private, and corporately.

I also like to have a healthy balance in my life to allow for church ministry, personal time, work, rest, fun times, fellowship, family, learning, growing, hobbies, travel, entertainment, exercise, etc. These areas together will help me to have a healthy spiritual, mental, physical, and emotional balance in life".
